The Right Time to Write a Will
Are you married? Do you have children? Do you own sufficient monies or properties? If you answered yes to any of those questions, it is in your best interest to consult your lawyer about a will.
There is a common misconception that the time to write a will is when you are nearing the end of life. While a will should be updated at that time, it is best to have the will already written long before, should your passing be untimely. The will guarantees everything you own ends up in the right place. It lays out a plan for transferring your funds and belongings to your spouse, children, family members, or other close partners.
If your children are minors, the will also gives you the ability to assign them guardians.
